USGBC establishes GBCI, new accreditations

The US Green Building Council announced today that its certification and accreditation functions are being separated and managed by a newly-established and separate Green Building Certification Institute. The GBCI will now be the certifying body for all LEED projects and the accreditation body for all LEED Accredited Professional professional designations.

Possibly most significant for HARDI member companies, the GBIC will be launching a new LEED Green Associate accreditation intended for students and professionals who support but are not actively involved in completing LEED certified projects. More info on all of this as it comes out.
