Mounting an Opposition to Card Check

Below is a letter just received from the Coalition for a Democratic Workforce, the coalition HARDI belongs to that was established to oppose the Employee Free Choice Act. The letter includes great information that is being used to fight the "card check" bills being introduced in the House and Senate today.

CDW Members:

Bill introduction is set for today with a press conference at 12:15 pm. The press conference has been called by Rep. George Miller (D-CA) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA).

Preceding the press conference, the Senate HELP Committee will hold a hearing entitled
Rebuilding Economic Security: Empowering Workers to Restore the Middle Class. If you’re so inclined, you can watch the hearing online by clicking

CDW has a print ad running the Roll Call, The Hill, and Politico this week, highlighting the potentially negative economic consequences of card-check and government mandated binding interest arbitration. Finally, the ad CDW ran this week cites economic data from a recently released study, published by the Alliance to Save Main Street Jobs. For you non-economists, I suggest reading the cliff notes version of this study
HERE, or viewing the entire study by visiting CDW’s website at www.myprivateballot.com.
