Thousands of Systems Have Been De-Listed

Yesterday was the effective date for AHRI's decision to de-list any mix-match coil combinations that did not get rerated in the 15 days between AHRI's de-listing decision and the effective date. A quick reference on the public CEE Directory of Energy Star or greater systems comparing systems listed on July 14 to those listed on July 15 shows a 20% drop in the number of certified central air-conditioners and heat pumps.

For example, there were 19,344 Tier 3 certified air-conditioners on July 14 and 14,272 the next day. The number of Tier 1 air-conditioners dropped from 59,156 to 48,852.
