House Passes Massive Healthcare Reform Bill

Late Saturday night the House passed HR 3962, the ill-named "Affordable Healthcare for America Act" by a narrow vote of 220-215 which included only one Republican vote from Louisiana Rep. Ahn "Joseph" Cao and 39 dissenting votes by Democrats. The bill penalizes employers for providing group health insurance and will ultimately drive individuals into a government-run public option insurance plan, all while costing enough to potentially cripple the US economy. For these reasons, businesses and their employees must tell their representatives who voted for the bill how much they regret their vote and that they shouldn't vote for final passage on any bill that returns to the House with such damaging provisions. We'll now need to focus on the Senate.
