Healthcare Summit Not Headed in Right Direction

The Administration's plan released on Monday to reconcile the House and Senate-passed healthcare reform bills continues to fail to address the root causes of escalating health insurance costs and, therefore, the growing number of uninsured Americans. ACCA's Charlie McCrudden posted an excellent summary and analysis of the President's plan, while The Politico published a letter from the StartOver Coalition sent to the White House yesterday. The StartOver Coalition, of which HARDI is a corresponding member, is urging a fresh start on healthcare reform to get away from the concepts passed by the House and Senate last year, and rather focusing on measures that will reduce costs and encourage more coverage.
