DOE to Re-Consider Higher Furnace Efficiency Standards

After more than a year, the U.S. Court of Appeals has granted a petition from several states and efficiency advocates with support from the Obama administration to review the U.S. Department of Energy's most recent increase in the residential furnace efficiency standards. A new and most likely abridged rulemaking must be completed by May 1, 2011 to consider a new standards of at least 90% AFUE.
