The success of the "Cash for Clunkers" program has many economists thinking that there may be something to this incentive concept. Despite the expected government adminstrative hiccups, the "Clunkers" program has proven that incentives with immediate payback are more stimulative than cash handouts. For an industry that is becoming more reliant on incentive programs by the day, HVACR businesses should be very encouraged by the prospect of further support for federal stimulus incentive programs.
