Is Corporate Support for Climate Change Bill Wavering?

This report of Caterpillar, ConocoPhillips, and BP America pulling out of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership represents a serious blow to prospects for 2010 climate change legislation, most specifically anything that might include a "cap-and-trade" scheme. More importantly, this represents a serious shift in posture for these major corporations, seemingly away from a fearful "he who cuts the first deal wins" to a more skeptical "I'm not sticking my neck out for this snowball in Hades"...and it's about time.
